Redeem the Commute is fast approaching a year of ministry through our mobile app and web site. In that time, we’ve had almost 900 people install our app, 400-600 web site users per month, hundreds of others accessing our content through social media, and lots of other news we simply haven’t had time to share. We’re thrilled about these numbers, since they are great indicators of potential for a local Christian community to form in Ajax.
Our next step is to begin hosting some community-building celebration events. These will allow us to both assess our users’ interest in face-to-face community, and reach new people. We’re about to host our first events, and need your help!
Redeem the Commute is hosting a free outdoor movie night on Friday, September 27th, or a day later in case of poor weather, at Lakeside Amphitheatre in Ajax. We’re offering this as a free gift to help our online community meet, and to introduce ourselves to the local community. We have asked only that guests bring a food donation to help the Salvation Army’s food bank shortage in Ajax.
This event won’t be cheap to host or advertise, so one way you can support us is with a donation. With $100, or any donation, you will help offset the costs of advertising, film rights, equipment rental and more. If your donation is coming from a company or organization, we can acknowledge this on screen before the movie begins.
Can you help in other ways? We need friends who can:
- Label popcorn bags in advance
- Pick up popcorn just before the event
- Help with snacks, welcoming and surprises at the event
