Date(s) - April 2, 2015
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The date right before Good Friday is significant, and traditionally called Maundy Thursday. It’s the night Jesus had a Passover supper in a rented room with his disciples, then after supper he shared bread and wine with them saying “this is my body” and “this is my blood”. He was arrested shortly afterwards, an encounter with the authorities that ultimately led to his death and resurrection.
We’ll do the same – we’ll gather for a meal in a “rented” room, and celebrate how our community has grown this year. After dinner we’ll break bread and have a sip of wine in remembrance of Jesus, and in communion with one another. We’ll retell and relive this incredible story.
You and your families are all welcome, whether you’re comfortable having communion or not. Communion is for anyone who’s been baptized in any Christian church, and who’s actively trying to follow Jesus (even if you’re struggling). We’ll be having communion in a pretty unconventional setting, so don’t worry about not knowing certain traditions or customs, we’ll all be in this together.
